Recent U.S. Auto Recalls: Critical Safety Updates

Automakers have already issued millions of safety recalls in 2025. Faulty brakes, fuel leaks, power steering problems and other defects are putting drivers at risk. If you own a Ford, Chevrolet, or Tesla, it’s critical to check whether your car is on the list.

At Hoskins, Turco, Lloyd & Lloyd, we help Florida families stay safe and understand their rights when vehicle defects cause harm. Here’s an overview of the latest high-priority recalls.

Why Recalls Can’t Wait

A recall notice isn’t just red tape — it’s a warning about a part that may fail and lead to an accident. Promptly addressing recalls not only reduces your crash risk but also helps preserve any future legal claims if an injury occurs.

Ford’s 2025 Safety Campaign

Ford is leading the U.S. in recalls this year, covering everything from SUVs to pickup trucks:

  • Edge & Lincoln MKX (2015–2018): Brake hoses that may rupture and cut braking power.
  • Mustang (2024–2025): Water intrusion can short out exterior lights.
  • F-Series Trucks (2025–2026 F-150/Super Duty): Software glitch blanks the instrument panel.
  • F-150 with Trailer Tow Max Duty (2023–2025): Loose rear-axle hub bolts may cause rollaway or power loss.
  • Bronco Sport & Escape (2021–2024 / 2020–2022): Cracked fuel injectors that could leak and spark engine fires.

Chevrolet Corvette Recall

  • Z06 & ZR1 (2023–2026): Fuel can spill during refueling and ignite near hot engine parts. GM has paused sales until protective shields are installed.

Tesla’s 2025 Recalls

Tesla has also launched several recalls this year:

  • All Models (3, Y, X, S – July): Hood latch detection faults.
  • Model 3 & Y (February): More than 370,000 vehicles with potential power steering loss.
  • New Builds (Spring–Summer): Seat fastener torque problems and unsecured horn wiring.

Steps Every Driver Should Take

  1. Run Your VIN: at NHTSA.gov/recalls or on your manufacturer’s recall page.
  2. Book a Free Repair through your dealership as soon as possible.
  3. Don’t Drive With a Known Defect. Waiting can endanger you and your passengers

We’re Here to Protect Injured Drivers

Recalls are meant to keep you safe, but delays in parts or repairs can still lead to accidents. At Hoskins, Turco, Lloyd & Lloyd, we’re committed to protecting the rights of individuals and families harmed by dangerous or defective vehicles.
