Attorney Steve Hoskins has maintained the prestigious Board Certification status for 25 years in the 19th Judicial Circuit.

On August 29th, 2014, the Florida Bar Association Board of Legal Specialization & Education announced that once again Attorney Steve Hoskins will be recertified as a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney in the 19th Judicial Circuit. Mr. Hoskins has been practicing personal injury law on the Treasure Coast since 1980 and has maintained the prestigious status of being a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney for 25 years.

Only six percent of all Florida attorneys are eligible to claim the stature of Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney. The Supreme Court of Florida acknowledges that as a board-certified attorney Mr. Hoskins has the distinction of possessing “special knowledge, skills, and proficiency in [the area of personal injury law], as well as the character, ethics, and a reputation for professionalism in the practice of law.” The Supreme Court of Florida adds that board certified attorneys are unsurpassed in competence and ethics.

“I am proud to continually be recognized as Board Certified,” said Mr. Hoskins. “Yes, it is a distinguished professional designation; however, what matters most is it allows me to provide my clients with a level of expertise and commitment that other attorneys may not be able to provide.”

The Board Certification application program involves a rigorous process where qualifying attorneys must meet the following criteria: Have a minimum of five years in law practice, receive a passing grade on the Board Certification examination, satisfy a peer review assessments of their competence in the specialty field, satisfy the certification area’s continuing legal education requirements and attend on-going Florida Bar-approved continuing legal education courses. To be recertified, lawyers must meet requirements similar to those for initial certification.

The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals summarized the state’s certification process as recognition “of exceptional attorneys, meaning those who stand out from others in all of the ways that make an attorney outstanding.” Mr. Hoskins also added, “I take great pride in protecting my clients and their families with the proven experience and passion for success that this Board Certification designation signifies.”

Attorney Steve Hoskins grew up in Fort Pierce, and his family has resided on the Treasure Coast for generations. Today, Mr. Hoskins is the Senior Partner of the Law Firm of Hoskins, Turco, Lloyd & Lloyd–a successful and community-oriented law firm which has offices in Port St. Lucie, Vero Beach, Fort Pierce, and Okeechobee.
