Attorney Ian Lloyd is the managing partner of the Law Firm of Hoskins, Turco, Lloyd & Lloyd, and he and Attorney Louis Turco lead the Social Security and Veterans’ disability departments. Born in St. Lucie County, Ian attended St. Anastasia Catholic School and then St. Augustine High School. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received his law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1998 and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1999. He is admitted to the Southern Federal District Court and the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans’ Claims.
A prominent attorney, Mr. Lloyd has been successfully practicing Social Security disability law and Veterans’ disability law for over twenty years along the Treasure Coast and has handled Social Security disability cases throughout the United States. Ian has argued Social Security cases at the administrative level, Appeals Council and in Federal District Court, and he is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives and the National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates. He is also a member of the St. Lucie County Bar Association, having served as president, and a member of the Indian River County Bar Association.
Mr. Lloyd knows that it is not uncommon for initial Social Security or Veterans’ disability claims to be denied; however, he also knows that an initial denial does not have to be the end of the process. Appealing a denial is complicated, time-consuming and frustrating. Statistics show that a disability claimant who is represented by an attorney at the hearing level is twice as likely to be approved for disability than an unrepresented claimant. Mr. Lloyd has the expertise and working knowledge of the complex Social Security and Veterans’ disability laws, rules, and regulations to get his clients the best possible results.
In addition to his dedication to the legal profession, Mr. Lloyd and his wife Cecilia are committed to the Treasure Coast and have sponsored or served as board members for many community organizations and events. Ian has served as a board member of the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida, the Sunrise Theater, and the Treasures Coast Manatee Center. An avid runner, Ian has completed 4 marathons, 3 half marathons, and has participated in over 50 local races for charity. He and his wife live in Vero Beach with their two children.
