Reasons behind the recalled toys
- Barbie Dream Camper by Fisher-Price – The Fisher-Price Barbie Dream Camper was recalled because its foot pedal could stick and pose a crash risk to children.
- Bead Maze Toys from Juratoys – The toy was recalled because the wooden triangle piece is too small under federal standards for small parts, and poses a choking hazard.
- Children’s grocery shopping carts from Step2 – Because the shopping cart’s basket can break into sharp pieces, the product was recalled for the risk of cuts.
- Grizzly Industrial’s children’s tool kits – The tool kit contains excessive levels of lead, including the tool belt, hammer and suspenders.
- Whack A Frog Game by YEEBAY – The popular game sold on Amazon contains chocking hazards and isn’t safe for children under the age of 4.
- Light-Up Magic Wands from Toysmith – The star-topped wand’s battery cover can detach and expose the button-cell batteries, which can be a choking and ingestion hazard to young children.
- Musical Lili Llama from Manhattan Toy – The musical llama toy was recalled as a choking hazard because the screws used to attach the spinning flowers can become loose and fall off.
- My Friend Cayla doll – My Friend Cayla doll has a Bluetooth vulnerability—a trait shared with lots of digital products. As part of Cayla’s business model, she collects all kinds of information to send back to the company, likely in violation of the kid privacy law Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- Nickelodeon’s Frozen Treats Slime – The manufacturer recommends the toy set for children ages 6 and older. It looks like edible frozen treats, but it contains hazardous chemicals. Package warnings say it’s not real food and should be used only with adult supervision; Consumer advocacy reports note a potential for chemical ingestion or skin irritation.
