Personal Injury/Auto Accident FAQs
I don't have any money to pay for an attorney. How do I pay you?
Our attorney's fee is only paid if we win your case. If we win, Social Security will pay us directly from your retroactive benefit check. If we do not win your case, you do not owe us an attorney's fee.
I have no insurance. Will you provide me with a doctor?
Unfortunately, we cannot pay for your medical treatment. However, we will give you advice in regards to local doctors and clinics who will see patients at a free or reduced rate. We can also help you find organizations that can help you pay for your medicine.
If I hire Hoskins, Turco, Lloyd & Lloyd, will I be hiring an attorney or a paralegal?
Neither. You will be hiring an entire law firm. Your initial consultation will be with an attorney and an attorney will handle your case. A paralegal will be assigned to your case to assist with paperwork and to answer simple, non-legal questions. If your case requires a hearing, an attorney will DEFINITELY appear with you at the hearing.
I would like to have an appointment with one of your attorneys but I'm not able to come to your office...what can I do?
Many of our clients we never meet face to face. Any appointment can be completed over the phone. We have also visited clients at their houses or a location close to their homes. We also have offices in Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce, Vero Beach and Okeechobee. Each of these offices is staffed and are not merely "empty" storefronts.

What do I need to prove to Social Security?
You must prove that you suffer from a medical condition that has lasted, or is likely to last for 12 months or more, and that the condition keeps you from engaging in substantial gainful activity.
Why should I hire Hoskins, Turco, Lloyd & Lloyd for my disability claim?
Louis Turco and Ian Lloyd are the attorneys who oversee every disability case for the firm. They exclusively practice Disability law and do not dabble in any other areas of the law. Together they have handled over 10,000 cases and are members of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives. Both reside on the Treasure Coast and have over 10 years of experience presenting cases to the very same Judges who ultimately may be deciding your claim!
My work was always "under the table"....can I collect disability?
You possibly may be able to receive payment under SSI or Supplemental Security Income
How long will it take for my claim to be decided?
The initial application usually takes 4-6 months to receive a decision. If the application is denied, it will likely take another 2-3 months on appeal. If the appeal is denied, it will likely take upwards of a year to get a hearing in front of a judge.

Yes. Generally the rules for disability become easier for anyone over the age of 50. Furthermore, the more strenuous your past workand the less educated you are can make a claim easier to prove.
